About the house

A place where every person may become the subject of a painting.

Founded by two photographers with a shared love of history, literature and old-world beauty, A Poet’s House was created as a quiet escape from the modern world.

01

Our founder story

A shared love of another era.

A Poet’s House began with two people drawn to photography, history, old-world interiors and the quiet beauty of another era.

We loved the way classical portraits made their subjects feel important. The careful lighting, rich fabrics, stillness of the pose and attention given to every detail could make an ordinary moment feel worthy of being remembered.

As photographers, we began to wonder what it might feel like to create that experience for people today—not a conventional studio where clients simply arrive, pose and leave with digital images, but a place where they could slow down, step away from daily life and experience becoming the subject of a painting.

That idea became A Poet’s House.

02

A world considered in detail

More than cameras and light.

We invested not only in photography, but in the entire atmosphere surrounding a portrait.

Antique-inspired dresses, classical furniture, ornate frames, delicate tableware and objects carrying a sense of history were chosen to make every corner part of the story.

The house reflects the things we have always loved: art, literature, vintage fashion, European interiors and portraits that feel emotional rather than temporary.

03

Our studio story

History, reimagined rather than reproduced.

Our visual language draws from classical European portraiture, Romanticism, French interiors, period fashion, literature and the warm, painterly light of old master paintings.

We are especially inspired by portraits that communicate more than physical beauty—images suggesting a person’s character, dreams, tenderness, strength and inner life.

The elegance of French salons meets the intimacy of an inherited family home. Flowing fabrics, flowers, books, candlelight, painted textures and controlled lighting help each portrait feel lived-in rather than staged.

We do not aim to reproduce history perfectly. We reinterpret its beauty through a contemporary lens, creating portraits that feel timeless, romantic and deeply personal.

04

The experience

Nothing is hurried. Your presence is worthy of attention.

From the moment a client arrives, every detail is designed to help her settle into the space and gradually feel at home within its world.

Hair, makeup, wardrobe styling, portrait guidance and afternoon tea are all part of the journey. No modelling experience or natural confidence in front of a camera is required.

We guide every client carefully. Our intention is not to turn someone into a different person, but to reveal a side of her that may not often be seen: graceful, expressive, powerful, gentle, mysterious or quietly beautiful.

We want each guest to feel welcomed, cared for and taken seriously. When she sees her portraits, we hope she recognises not only how beautiful she looks, but something true within herself.

05

Made to remain

A piece of personal history.

We believe a beautiful portrait should not exist only on a phone or disappear into social media.

It should feel personal, meaningful and lasting—something to frame, display at home and perhaps one day pass to another generation.

This is why we created A Poet’s House: to make every person feel worthy of being remembered as a work of art, and to create portraits carrying the feeling of an heirloom.
